Huangniushi Nature Reserve is located in the Jiulian Mountain Range in northern Guangdong, north of Lianping County, with a total area of 4334 hectares. It is connected to the Jiulian Mountain National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province to the north.

The protected area belongs to the middle and low mountain range, surrounded by continuous peaks and magnificent mountains. The highest peak, Huangniushi, is 1430 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in northeastern Guangdong. The mountain gradually decreases from north to south, with ups and downs.
